Traditional Margaritas

Traditional Margaritasfeatured

Well, it is the most wonderful time of the year folks – my birthday! So tonight, we are getting down and boogie-ing. To start the night, I’ve whipped up a batch of traditional margaritas very quickly! Super easy and super…effective. :P

You’ll need…

  • Limes and plenty of em!
  • Cointreau or my tres elegant no-name equivelent
  • Tequila
  • Shot glass or measure
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Ice
  • Salt
  • Glasses

Slice up your limes and juice them. Pour the juice into a measuring jugs to get your quantities right.

Pour Add the Tequila & Orange liquor to the lime juice at a 2:1:1 ratio.

On a plate, sprinkle salt…me being the dork that I am, had to grind rock salt but hey, this is a very important step! Get that salt anyway you can. Run a slice of lime around the rim of each glass them flip it over twirl it around in the salt making sure all the edges are coated evenly.

Pour your lime juice mix into the shaker with a few ice cubes. Shake it like a polaroid picture! Use the strainer on your shaker to fill each glass. Cut a thin slice of lime and add it to the rim of the glass… now drink!

Hope everyone has a very happy weekend. I’m off to attend my birthday celebrations. I kind of feel like this.. skip in to 3:50. Brilliant!! Also, it’s our mate Lachlan’s birthday as well. HA! So me.
