Mini Project: Soothing Lavender Bathsaltsfeatured

This is a very quick and easy tutorial and unlike some projects, you can get pretty much everything you need from your local shopping centre!

Soothing Lavender Bath Salts

What You’ll Need

  • 1/3 cup Dried lavender
  • 3 – 5 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • 1 cup Epsom Salts
  • Air tight container for storage

Method

Measure out the Epsom salts. Stir in the lavender oil until there are no clumps. Add more if you feel the scent is not strong enough.

If you have dried your lavender out the old fashioned way like me (by tying it up and hanging it upside down for about two weeks), you’ll need to de-bud it. This can be done by running your fingers down the opposite direction to the buds. Rub them carefully with your fingers to separate them further. It smells incredible!

Stir the lavender buds into the salt mixture. Once it is mixed together, you can pop it in an air tight storage container. I picked up this fancy little glass jar from our local junk shop for $4.99! It was a bargain and it looks pretty sweet next to the bath tub, very fancy like!

Ta dah! You are done! Now you can keep it for yourself or jazz it up with a bow and give it to Mum as a thoughtful mother’s day gift! You could also try a different recipe, like a refreshing mint or add some rosemary to the lavender mix.
