I am a huge fan of the traditional gin and tonic, anytime, anywhere. While we were in the States, we bought some fun new bitters to try and I found some yummy blueberries at the local fruit shop on sale (2 best words in the english language) so I thought I’d try this new twist on an old favourite!
- 1 shot of Gin (I used Bombay Saphire, although I do love me some Tanqueray)
- Handful of fresh blueberries, blended
- Tonic Water
- Rhubarb Bitters (you can get it Dan Murphys)
Pour it all into a glass and stir with swizzle stick! Never put carbonated drinks in a cocktail shaker… I did it once many years ago with a bright red soft drink…you can imagine the results.
If you want less sweetness and tonic, you trade it for soda water. I’d also recommend adding a sprig of mint, I was all out at the time!
